Cloud Security Architect (Remote)

As a cloud security architect on the JuliaHub team, you will raise the bar on security for our cloud compute products. You will work closely with the development team to increase trust and confidence in our products. 


Julia Computing's mission is to develop products that bring Julia's superpowers to its customers. Julia Computing's flagship product is JuliaHub, a secure, cloud based, software-as-a-service platform for developing Julia programs, deploying them, and scaling to thousands of nodes. Julia Computing was founded in 2015 by the creators of the Julia programming language for artificial intelligence, machine learning, analytics, data science, modeling and simulation.


Responsibilities

  • Develop security training and guidance to internal development teams & educate them on secure coding practices
  • Provide subject matter expertise on architecture, authentication and system security
  • Well versed with performing source code reviews to find the flaws overlooked in the initial phases of development
  • Assess security tools and integrate them into the development process
  • Review application code to proactively identify and reduce security risks
  • Find and remove outdated and vulnerable code and code libraries
  • Analyze product features and architecture for potentially security issues
  • Troubleshoot and remediate security incidents

Requirements

  • Familiar with common security libraries, security controls, and common security flaws that apply to Web applications 
  • Ability to discover and patch common Web vulnerabilities (OWASP Top 10 and beyond) and authentication & authorization flaws
  • Experience with security issues common to cloud architectures
  • Knowledge of common authentication technologies including OAuth and SAML
  • Knowledge of browser-based security controls such as CSP, HSTS, CORS etc.
  • Experience with some Web application security tools such as ZAP and BurpSuite
  • Ability to communicate effectively with developers, researchers and clients about security issues
